The REV’IT! Outback Pants are an affordable off-road adventure, adventure touring option that REV’IT! has designed specifically for the rider wanting complete weather protection and good impact protection from a top-tier brand without going broke.
REV’IT accomplished this by giving the Outback a removable thermal liner, CE level 1 armor, and a removable waterproof liner. That means the Outback is a large step up from other affordable pants in the REV’IT! lineup because, now with the liner out, venting will go directly to your body instead of being caught by a non-removable z-liner.
Abrasion resistance is a bit lower than the top-tier pants but the heavy denier Oxford and synthetic fabrics are still competitive. Zippered venting is on the front of the thighs, movement panels are at the knees, and a decent amount of fit adjustment is at the waist and these pair well with several of the smaller, more nuanced features.
Overall this makes the Outback a solid mid-level choice. It’s plenty capable for commuting and light adventure riding. And like the name suggests, it’s a good match with the Outback 2 Jacket as well as a realistic alternative to the more expensive Horizon 2 pants.
