Unfortunately, the two bikes I have tend to sit for too long between rides, so I can definately answer this question. No, it's stays moist and tacky for 1-2 months easily. I completely dunk my filters when oiling them and then push the excess out and then work into the filter till it's good and tacky. In most cases I then put the filter in a sealed zip lock filter till the next change as keep two filters rotating for each bike. Hope that helps.
BILL DEnough of any degreaser will remove the oil from the filter. I highly recommend the Twin Air Filter Cleaner solution because to dip the filter in and pull it back out and it's clean. It's very easy. I personally then will use a good dish soap to clean the rest and rinse it with water and let dry. You don't have to clean all of the oil out every time. You can use the cleaner and then just let it dry, but it takes much longer to dry and tends to put off a smell. The Bio cleaner will not work with this oil.
Chad THave 1200 miles on my machine and due to the dusty conditions we ride in I service mine about every 200-250 miles (about 5 service intervals). I ride in the mostly in the summer months and service the air filter when it is warm/hot and never had a issue of thick oil. Depending on your machine, mine is a King Quad. I always put grease around the bottom of the filter to insure a good seal. I wouldn't use anything else but Twin Air products.
Ernest SYou must pour the unused oil back in the metal container it came it or the chemical they use to keep it thin will evaporate. I us to leave it in the tube and it got thick, but once i started putting it back in the can it came in it always stays thin. After you oil the filter and let it sit for a day or 2 that chemical evaporates and leaves just the oil on the filter.
Dennis COnce the solvent evaporates, yes. Meaning the oil won’t catch on fire, but the filter, obviously will not contain a large backfire.
David PI can clean my filter about 6-9 times with one liter
Tyler AThis is in a 1 liter jug.
