Well, with modifications and power increases, the stress on engine components also increases. With this in mind, Hot Rods has designed their heavy duty crankshafts to thrive while taking extra abuse. They’ve done this by adding material in high-stress areas of the connecting rod forging to create a much stronger rod that resists deformation, keeps bearings in better condition, and outlasts OEM parts. In addition to this, a bronze bushing is added inside the wrist pin bore to reduce wrist pin galling and improve loading resistance. These advancements are in addition to the features of Hot Rods standard crankshafts and make the Heavy Duty Crankshafts perfect for big bores, high compression engines, turbos, or anything else.
